Euromillions UK, just like the EU version, is a lottery draw held every Tuesday and Friday at 9:30 PM (Paris time). It is the largest transnational lottery in Europe, both in terms of participants and the size of the prizes.

The first draw took place on February 13, 2004, promoted by the national lottery operators of the United Kingdom (National Lottery), France (La Française des Jeux) and Spain (Loterías y Apuestas del Estado). Soon after, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Switzerland joined.

Although relatively young, Euromillions was born with the launch of the euro (€), after more than a decade of planning a unified lottery for over 500 million Europeans.

The minimum guaranteed jackpot for the top prize category is €17 million, and since a 2020 update, the jackpot can now grow up to €250 million.

What is the UK Millionaire Maker?

This is an exclusive UK-only supplementary draw. Each Euromillions UK ticket includes a unique alphanumeric code (four letters + five numbers), generated by Allwyn’s system, which ensures that one lucky player wins £1,000,000 in every draw.

Promotional draws are also held regularly, where multiple players become millionaires on the same night. Participation is included in the ticket price, at no additional cost.

How to Play Euromillions UK?

The rules are identical across all participating countries. Players must select:

• 5 numbers from 1 to 50

• 2 Lucky Stars from 1 to 12

The more numbers and stars you match with the winning combination, the bigger your prize.

On the LottoHoy game page, you’ll see a line with 5 columns each with numbers from 1 to 50 and a secondary area with 12 stars.

You can add more lines by clicking “MÁS LÍNEAS”. Bets can be placed manually or automatically using the “SELECCIÓN RÁPIDA” (Quick Pick) button. The total cost is displayed in the bottom-right corner. Click “CONTINUAR” to confirm your order and proceed to payment using one of the available secure methods.

Euromillions UK Ticket Price

The price per bet varies by organizing country and currency.

When playing via LottoHoy, the cost of a standard Euromillions UK ticket — including the UK Millionaire Maker is €6.75.

This ticket gives you access to both the main draw and the exclusive code-based draw, offering a chance to win £1,000,000, even if your main number combination doesn’t win.

Other Special Euromillions Draws (Offline)

In addition to the main draw, several countries organize complementary draws, either included in the ticket price or offered as optional extras. Below are some of the most notable ones.

“Millionaire Rain”

This is a special raffle where multiple millionaires are guaranteed in a single draw across all participating countries.

Winning codes are randomly selected from all eligible tickets. These draws are scheduled on specific dates throughout the year.

The “Superdraw”

Also known as Super Sorteo, this is a high-stakes draw with a guaranteed jackpot of at least €130 million, regardless of the previous jackpot size.

Since February 2020, there are three Superdraws per year, and the prize can roll over up to €250 million if no one hits the top prize.

Special Draws (Big Friday)

Known as Big Friday, these are enhanced regular draws with nine-figure guaranteed jackpots. The prize pool is funded with 4.8% of the common prize fund during early rollovers, and 21% is added to the jackpot reinforcement fund after eight rollovers.

They follow the same rules as standard draws.
